Man and Woman

Before reading this entry, a word of caution. ps read this objectively. its not written to put anybody down. i'm not refering to anybody here so if you still feel like giving me a piece of your mind then go ahead. i understand where you're coming from. =)

I was doing some reading and did some thinking about the roles and responsibilities of the male species in the 21st century.

Ya know in the 19th century, man took their responsibilities seriously as the head of the family. they will provide, protect and prevent any harm from happening to his beloved family. anyone who tries to mess with his wife or kids will eventually end up on a head to head confrontation with the man himself. that certainly make sense as the family is his pride and joy and it means everything to him, even to the extend of sacrificing his life for his family.

In the OT, man are kings, prophets, priest etc. mainly holding important roles or positions. women only step up to the game if there was a need like what happen to Queen esther. she took up the role of fighting for the people cos the man became a..... (cant think of anything to describe him) AHHH!!!!! scardy cat, how's that.

Anyway my point is this.... i'm not demeaning the female species. don't get me wrong. i know some people might think i'm an egomaniac after reading this entry(look what happens to YS blog after the entry on parking) but it doesn't bother me at all. its up to you to judge. Back to my point. without them, the female species, there will be no offsprings at all. without them, there will be no great bible characters like the prostitutes (or izit just a woman?) by the well, mary magdalene, ruth, esther etc. i'm totally grateful to their contributions. all these ladies are worth mentioning in the bible cos they were outstanding, and that's a big thing.

But i feel that as the years goes by, the responsibilities of the man has slowly been "degraded". take for an example, have you heard people saying this: "he's getting in touch with his feminine side or he's a metrosexual " nothing wrong with that. i myself am like that. i do want to look good. i do believe in taking care of my temple(my body etc) but i just feel that there are man out there who cares about nothing but looking good thus leaving the responsibilites of a man to a woman. and that is whats happening. i've seen it with my own eyes and its disgusting. what happen to the maleness that God created in the first place. what happen to the "rule and reign" part. in a generation where the media promotes things like "man don't get it", the feminist movement etc.

Do you know that when the feminist movement was triving in the U.S, a court case was called upon by this female lawyer. she and her client, a young girl was sueing a toy departmental store for.... get ready.... for seperating the GIRLS toys from the BOYS toys. she of course was a feminist. she claims that the store is doing psychological harm not only to her client but to many other kids as well, girls especially. when i read this from a book, i was like DIAOZZZZ......

Anyway in a post moredernist society like singapore, there are many young singaporean girls out there who believe that they are of equal stature to men. they believe that they can earn more money than man, which is true. the girls in singapore started everything a step faster than the guys as they need not attend national service. so they have the privilege of entering the uni or working world earlier. this thing just came into my mind. whats with guys that help their gals carry their handbag. does carrying their handbag mean they're more gentlemanly, more sensitive, more in touch with their feminine side, more metrosexual..... and the list just goes on and on. will i be sued if somebody from the government body read my entry? am i being political here? nowadays its not so safe to write your views anymore.

Talking about equality, i think no matter what, the female species will triumph. here's why. the female species demands that they be treated equally, job opportunities etc, but at the end of the day you can't help but realise that the ladies can still flirt their way through to the top. i'm not saying all but there are some who does that. the bible has already mention that the fall of men is women. no wonder more and more guys are turning gay cos they cant function properly their duties.

But i'm glad that there are still some good old fashion man of God out there. i'm glad that in church we've been taught to follow the bible and not the systems or influences of the world. the model couples in our church are definately setting a great example. Ps Ben and Ps Dinah, Ps Jeff and Claudia, Ps Law and Pat, Elson and Limei. all these couples are biblical couples. the man leads and does his job, the women listens and follows and of course discussion do happen.

so in a world of feminism, where does the male species stand?
